Frank Warren began his own business in 1950. As a Plumbers Merchant, Frank and his son Seth started the business on Terrace Street in a row of terraced houses that incorporated a laundry machine manufacturer.

Having removed all the old laundry machines the resulting space was shelved out using old lard boxes acquired from Park Cake Bakery in Oldham.

Although successful as a plumbers merchant it soon became apparent that the business could expand by stocking Engineering and Electrical supplies and today the company is better known for this type of equipment

The firm remained at these first premises for 25 years. In 1974 after the death of his father, Seth then reorganised the business and moved into newer and much larger premises at the rear. The old terrace houses were demolished. At this time the business was also made a limited company.

Over the next 15 years the company increased its stock and turnover to become a major wholesaler in the Oldham area. Seth introduced yet another line of supply by opening a Power Tool department for both sales and repair.
